Odisha: 4 temporary ponds dug for immersion

BERHAMPUR: The Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) has built four artificial ponds at different locations for immersion of Durga idols. The immersion will take place on Friday, while one idol was immersed on Wednesday night.The BeMC had come under criticism earlier this year for failing to build artificial ponds for immersion of Ganesh idols. “Artificial ponds were dug at Goshaninuagoan, Andhpasara Road, First Gate and Ambapua for immersion of Durga idols,” said Nilamadhab Bhoi, assistant commissioner, BeMC.
